Independence is a beautiful, proud community in the heart of Tangipahoa Parish that has celebrated their Sicilian-Italian heritage for many years through an annual festival. Three years ago, the festival was renamed and restyled and has met with great success. Our 2011 Independence Sicilian Heritage Festival attracted close to thirty thousand people! With your help, we will exceed that total in 2012. We have already booked some very exciting entertainment that’s sure to draw a crowd.
